.NET, WinUI and WPF

Windows Application Development for Miami Businesses

Most offices in Miami still run their day on Windows PCs, and a lot of that day runs on software that was built years ago or never properly built at all. Neon Manatee builds native Windows apps in .NET with WinUI 3 and WPF: line of business tools, hardware integrations, kiosks and commercial products, signed and packaged for a clean rollout through Intune, MSIX or the Microsoft Store. You own the code, the certificates and the installers.

Windows App Development for Teams That Live in Their PCs

Browsers can do a lot, but some work still belongs in a Windows application. Accounting staff reconciling thousands of rows, dispatchers juggling three monitors, lab technicians reading values from an instrument over USB and front desk teams printing labels all get a faster, steadier experience from software installed on the machine. Windows application development is about building that software properly for the platform most offices already standardize on.

Our work is grounded in the Microsoft stack. For new apps we usually recommend WinUI 3 on the Windows App SDK, which brings the modern Fluent design language, sharp high DPI scaling and support for touch, pen and keyboard. For teams with existing WPF code, or apps that rely on mature third party grids and charting controls, WPF on current .NET remains an excellent choice, and WPF development is a core part of our Windows work. We pick the framework after looking at your users and your existing code, not before.

Windows software rarely lives alone. It reads from SQL Server, talks to an ERP or accounting system, prints to label and receipt printers, scans barcodes and documents, and signs people in with the Microsoft 365 accounts they already use through Microsoft Entra ID. Planning those connections early is what separates a tool your staff trusts from one they quietly work around.

Deployment is where many Windows projects go wrong, and it is the part we care about most. An unsigned installer that triggers SmartScreen warnings, or an app that has to be updated by walking from desk to desk, costs real time every month. We package apps as MSIX or a signed installer, set up automatic updates, and hand your IT team a deployment that works with Intune or whatever management tools they already use.

Pricing is published through our app estimator. Simple Windows apps start at $1,200, logic heavy software with accounts, dashboards, payments or integrations starts at $15,000, and complex, secure builds start at $25,000. You start with 30 percent down at checkout, and estimates above $60,000 begin with a conversation with a senior strategist.

Windows Apps for Doral Warehouses, Brickell Offices and Broward Clinics

South Florida runs on businesses that keep Windows PCs busy. Import and export companies around Doral and the Miami International Airport cargo area track shipments, customs paperwork and warehouse stock. Law firms, accountants and financial offices in Brickell and Downtown handle sensitive documents all day. Medical and dental practices across Miami-Dade and Broward connect front desk PCs to card readers, label printers and imaging equipment. These are exactly the environments where a well built Windows app gives hours back every week.

A common starting point is an Excel workbook full of macros that one person built years ago, or an Access database nobody wants to touch. We document what it actually does, move the data into a proper database, and rebuild the workflow as a Windows app with validation, permissions and an audit trail, while keeping the shortcuts and layouts your team relies on.

Hospitality and retail businesses from Miami Beach to Coral Gables use Windows for kiosks, back office stations and point of sale add ons. Kiosk apps can run in Windows assigned access mode, locked to a single app, with touch friendly controls and automatic recovery if something crashes, which matters when nobody is standing next to the screen.

We work with clients across Florida and throughout the United States, mostly remotely, with the same team and the same prices as our sister brand, Best Website Builder Group. When an app depends on equipment in your office, we plan hardware testing early, for example by working with a spare device or through a remote session with your staff, so integration problems surface in week two rather than launch week.

Why Neon Manatee

Why Teams Choose Neon Manatee for Windows Software

Many developers who build for Windows are comfortable writing the code and far less comfortable with everything around it. We treat signing, packaging, update channels, crash reporting and deployment as part of the product. That is what lets an IT manager push a new version to every machine on a Friday afternoon without losing sleep over it.

We respect the way power users work. Windows staff live on the keyboard, so every major action has a shortcut, tab order is logical, grids copy and paste cleanly into Excel, and windows remember their size and position. The app supports screen readers through UI Automation, high contrast themes and the large text settings some people depend on, in line with WCAG 2.1 AA.

We are honest about when Windows is the wrong answer. If your users are split between Windows and Mac, or work mostly from phones, a web app or cross-platform build may be the better investment, and our desktop and web teams will say so before you spend money. When a Windows app is the right call, we build it to last.

Everything is yours at the end. The source code lives in your repository, the code signing certificate and Store account are in your name, and the build pipeline is documented so another developer could pick it up. Support plans cover Windows and .NET updates, security patches and new features after launch.

  • Native .NET with WinUI 3 or WPF
  • Signed packages, no SmartScreen surprises
  • Microsoft 365 sign in
  • Keyboard first and screen reader tested

Shipping Windows Software Your IT Team Will Not Dread

Building a Windows app is half the job. The other half is getting it onto every machine, keeping it current and making sure it never blocks someone from working on a busy morning. Those concerns should shape the project from the first week rather than appear as a surprise during launch.

Packaging comes first. MSIX gives Windows apps a clean install and uninstall, keeps them from scattering leftovers across the registry the way older installers did, and supports automatic updates. Some apps still need a traditional installer because of drivers or shell extensions, and in those cases we build a signed installer with a clear update path instead.

Code signing is not optional. Unsigned software triggers SmartScreen warnings that train staff to click through security prompts, and some managed environments block it outright. We set up signing with a certificate or a cloud signing service in your name and build it into the automated pipeline, so every release is signed the same way.

Then comes rollout. For managed fleets, we prepare packages that Intune or your existing tools can push to device groups, starting with a small pilot before the whole company. Crash reporting and basic usage data tell us whether the new version is healthy, and a rollback plan exists before anyone needs it.

Windows and .NET will keep moving for as long as your software is in use. We choose supported versions, keep dependencies current and document the build so a routine Windows update does not become an emergency. That long view is the difference between software that ages well and software that becomes the next legacy problem.

Straight answers

Windows App Questions

How much does Windows application development cost?

Simple Windows apps start at $1,200, logic heavy apps with accounts, dashboards, payments or integrations start at $15,000, and complex, secure software starts at $25,000. The online estimator prices your feature list, and estimates over $60,000 start with a senior strategist conversation.

Should we use WinUI 3 or WPF?

For new apps we often recommend WinUI 3 for its modern Fluent interface and Windows App SDK features. WPF is a strong choice when you have existing WPF code, depend on mature third party controls or need broad compatibility with older Windows 10 machines. We explain the tradeoff for your situation.

Can you modernize our old WinForms or VB6 software?

Yes. We review the existing application and its data, then either migrate it to current .NET in stages or rebuild the interface while keeping the business rules your team relies on. Some code can often move across, which reduces cost.

Can the app be published on the Microsoft Store?

Yes. Commercial products can be listed on the Microsoft Store, which handles installs and updates. Internal tools are usually distributed privately through Intune or a signed installer with automatic updates.

Can it connect to printers, scanners and other equipment?

Yes. Windows apps can drive receipt and label printers, barcode and document scanners, scales, card readers and many USB or serial instruments. We confirm each device and its driver or SDK during discovery.

Can staff sign in with their Microsoft 365 accounts?

Yes. We integrate Microsoft Entra ID so people sign in with their existing work accounts and access follows the groups and permissions your IT team already manages.

Is this different from your desktop app service?

Our desktop app page covers custom desktop application development for both Windows and macOS, often from one codebase. This page focuses on native Windows software for teams standardized on Windows, where deeper platform integration pays off.

How long does a Windows app take?

Focused internal tools often take a few weeks to a couple of months, while larger line of business systems take longer. Your estimate defines the scope, and you install working builds throughout the project.

Can you build a kiosk app?

Yes. We build touch friendly kiosk apps that can run locked to a single app in Windows assigned access mode, with automatic restart and remote updates.
